    Tame Impala

    Perth, Western Australia·2007–present

Tame Impala is essentially Kevin Parker alone in a studio, layering psychedelic guitars, vintage synthesizers, and meticulously crafted drum patterns into songs that sound like they're melting in the best possible way. What started as a retro psych rock project evolved into shimmering synth pop that owed as much to Daft Punk as to Pink Floyd.\n\nCurrents was the pivot point. the album where Parker fully committed to electronic textures and pop songwriting while retaining the psychedelic haze. "Let It Happen" and "The Less I Know the Better" became generation defining tracks. His production skills made him one of the most sought after collaborators in pop, working with everyone from Mark Ronson to Travis Scott. The fact that all of this comes from one person in Perth, Australia makes it even more remarkable.
